Happy Anniversary to Us!

Hurrah!!! and Busy, Busy, Busy...

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to Emma and Jon for a cute little girl, Xanthisa.

Everyone wanted to hold her. Oma...

Opa...

and Great Oma.

Crimsel and Cirrus wanted to check out how little her fingers are. That is Cirrus's finger that Xanthisa is holding.

Wednesday evening we picked up Cirrus and Crimsel. Thursday, Cirrus went to school, and I stayed home in case we had to get Cirrus and run to the hospital. Keith took the day off as well, so Crimsel was stuck with us. I missed Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, but I think it was worth it. Cirrus wanted to bring the baby home with us while Mom was resting in the hospital. Imagine my surprise when Emma said, "NO!"

Friday both of us girls went to school, while Opa and Crimsel went to:

After Opa picked up Cirrus we went to see Xanthisa, and then picked peaches. The kids were great helpers. Saturday we went to Nathan Gates's baptism. Naughty Oma only took a picture of Cirrus and Crimsel with their letters and didn't take one of Ari with her letter. Ari was adorable when she ran up front to volunteer to hold a letter.

After the baptism we took Cirrus and Crimsel home. I am tired. I don't know how you young mothers do this day in day out. Maybe it is because I am getting older. All in all, we had a wonderful time.

State Fair

Opa and I took Cirrus, Crimsel, Dirk, and Arie to the State Fair. Laura stayed home with baby Bree, and Emma stayed home 'cause baby three is due in about 3 weeks. Jon was at work, and David, Sarah, Zach, Cannon and Elliot too far away.

First stop was canning. Cirrus and Crimsel helped me can apricots, so I entered one of our jars.

We took Third Place!

I also entered some butter I canned, it was on display

because there wasn't a category to judge it in.

Elliot's baby quilt took 2nd Place!

Then we went to look at animals, eat corn dogs, and ride the slide.

The kids received glow in the dark bracelets, and went home tired.

We had a great time!

Hooray!!! and a little bit of this and that...

Little Bree is just darling.

She came on the 12th, her Great-Great Opa Arie Allart's birthday. Ari stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Turpin's.

She was having a great time.

Keith, Great Oma, (my Mom) and I stayed at Turpin's

for a while as we waited to see Bree.

Laura's parents are wonderful people and very gracious.

July 25

David Mahonrimoriancumer's birthday, (see previous blog)

and the day of the garage door install. Yep, it is green!

We were also having mechanical work done.

This is the pool equipment room.

And yes, we hired someone else to do part of the work.

July 23 - 24

For Susan Tweed's birthday she wanted to go camping.

So we went to Granite Flats in American Fork Canyon,

and hiked through Timp Cave.

I think Kelsy took the prize for being the most dirty.

Yours truly made all the way without needing to be carried!

(That made it easier for Keith, and less embarrassing for me.)

David Says....

"Just add a beard to that last picture and you've got me now.

Sure haven't changed much!!"

Happy Birthday to David

Well, well, well... Happy Birthday to my oldest little boy. I was very excited to have this little munchkin. He was magic to me. In those days we stayed in the hospital for along time - 5 days, then he was able to come home. I thought I knew how to bathe a new baby, but David didn't understand my method and he would swallow water, and then sputter. Then I would get all concerned. For you newer mommies out there: I didn't have a fancy tub, I washed him in a small basin when he was little. David was and is a handsome person. First, David is a marvelous son. He is easy to talk with and fun to be around. Next is he is a good husband to Sarah, you'll need to ask her for more details. He is a fantastic father to his three boys and a wonderful uncle. David works hard to provide for his family and is active in his church callings. He has a fantastic sense of humor and can argue the socks off of anyone. I love being his mother, and Dad loves being there for him as well.

Isn't he handsome? I sure love my little (big) boy. Happy Birthday David!

Tea Party

Today I had a "Tea Party" for my grand-daughters. Ari was very excited to receive a card just for her. She liked the bow on it. Cirrus was excited to be invited to a "Tea Party". Here they are looking very grownup and pretty in their dresses. We had soy wrapped chicken salad, cantaloupe, sugar-coated grapes (they look fancy), and orange herbal tea. For dessert we had cream puffs. Both girls had fun.

Opa was concerned about Crimsel being involved in such a girly thing. Crimsel helped set the table and get everything ready while the "ladies" visited in the living room. After they sat down he helped serve.

Here Cirrus is washing the sugar off her grapes. Ari washed the sugar off of her grapes too. Too much sugar is just too much sugar, Oma.
After tea we all played "Go Fish!" I had a wonderful time.
