Happy Easter Eve

Okay, so now it is Easter.

I started this yesterday, but alas it is no longer Easter Eve.

Yesterday we had an Easter Egg Hunt

at Aunt Mary Jane's with the Allart side of the family.

The kids had fun.

Later that night we went to the Thai New Year celebration.

Judy and Jensen bought the girls dresses and wanted them there.

It was fun to watch the girls dance when others were performing on stage.

Notice how Crimsel comes to the table, and is oblivious to Cirrus dancing.

Ahh... A Day in the Life of a Sixth Grade Teacher

Well, it has been one of those days. Something was stolen, retrieved, given to the rightful owner, and both students eventually talked to. Hope I made a difference. Then, at the end of math class, at the end of the day, kids are going back to home room, computers being shut down, planners being written in, room being pick up, teacher signing the planners, when one of my big boys comes up to my desk lugging a chair with him. "Teacher do you have a pair of scissors?" "Why do you need scissors?" I ask, staring at the chair his sweatshirt is tied to. "I don't know how my sweatshirt got tied to this chair, and I can't get it loose." After a few quick photos I had him kneel on the floor to take the tension out of the string and worked the knot loose. Gee Whiz, sixth grade can be interesting. "Thanks, teacher!"

Now a different student comes wandering to my desk. "Do you know where my yellow chair is? I can't find it!"

Changes

Progress! We (I should say Keith) sheet rocked the air handler room off of the library. I helped by stabilizing sheets, and helping to move in place while Keith manipulated the screw gun. Then we taped and mudded. Keith has found a great way to do the top coat and paint at the same time. He pours some paint into the topping compound, mixes it all up and then rolls it on. It gives a nice texture. Now for the floor.

Judy and Jensen's dog had puppies. Here they are a week old.

With their eyes closed they are more comfortable in the kennel with their blanket and mom. Cirrus ansd Crimsel had a lot of fun.

Ari had a fun birthday party last Saturday,

and came to visiti me yesterday at school.

She is growing up fast!

Our Friends, Judy and Jensen

Some of you know our friends, Judy and Jensen. On Wednesdays I help them with English; reading and grammar skills. It reminds me a little bit of English Class in Japan. They are pretty good students, and have made some nice improvements.

When they went to Thailand they brought back Thai silk princess dresses for our little princesses. What a wonderfull surprise!! Ari is in pink, and Cirrus is in green. I think the girls are beautiful in their silk dresses.
