Oma & Cirrus Outing

Wednesday evening Cirrus and I (Oma) went to Ballet West's performance of Cinderella. This was Cirrus's second time to the ballet. Last year we went to "An evening of Ballets". Cirrus was beautiful in her long red dress, and her hair up in little braids pinned in buns. Only one cushion was allowed per child, so we supplemented with Oma's sweater and Cirrus's coat. Once again Cirrus was spell bound, and thoroughly enjoyed the ballet. Adults found her adorable and talked to her. During intermission she twirled in the aisle, and was asked if she was being Cinderella. She promptly replied, "No". She looked into the orchestra pit and was intrigued by the harpist tuning her harp. She watched for a long time, past Oma's interest level. After the ballet Cirrus was being a typical little girl and an older lady asked her if she was a ballerina. Cirrus's only disappointment was that she didn't get to meet Cinderella in person. The ballet was two and a half hours long. It is still amazing to me that she sat still for so long, and was so interested. Opa was our chauffeur for the evening, and carried one little sleepy Cinderella into her house when we took her home. We had a wonderful time.

Happy Valentine's Day

As everyone around here KNOWS, we had a sideways blizzard yesterday. Meaning more wind than actual snow. Kids slept over at school in Alpine District, and vehicles were stranded on many roads. Not us, we were safe and snug in our home. We decided to car pool today, and after dropping me off at school, Keith found a foot deep snow drift in the garage of our new house we are building. Several inches were shaved off the top of the drift when he pushed the car door open. During am recess Keith called to say that he had a mishap with the car.

He was driving north on 5th West, by the Jazz practice center, and a snow plow was plowing southward on I-15. An avalanche of plowed snow thundered down over the side off the freeway right on top of the windshield. We now are the proud owners of a decorative windshield. I wonder if it will pass inspection!?!

We are very grateful that Keith, and others were not injured in this incident. We do have rock chip repair with the purchase of our last windshield. Maybe......

Emma's BD Dinner

Friday, February 1st, we had a birthday dinner at our house for Emma. We had orange chicken (Emm'as request), and had a good time being together and celebrating.

Emma had a fairy tale cake...

Afterwards Opa decided to clean up cake crumbs from the floor,

and Crimsel found some "new" entertainment.

Great Oma in the News

This newscast is February 1, 2008, 5:00 pm news. About one minute into the newscast you can hear Oma's voice. Later in the newscast you can see her. It was fun for us to listen to her. I don't recall Oma being in the news before. Now she is a famous lady.

Happy Birthday to Emma!

Well, well well... Happy Birthday to my little girl, who is now a mommy of two herself. I was so excited to have another baby, and was hoping to have a little girl. She was a beautful baby, and is now a beautiful wife and mother.
